Executive Chef Ron Lindemann
From a very young age “Chef Ron” had a passion for being in the kitchen. He recalls many stories where his grandmother would reference him helping her cook, standing on a chair, not even tall enough to reach the counter. Born and raised on Staten Island, New York, Ron started his professional culinary journey at the age of 15 as a prep cook at a steak and seafood restaurant on the New York harbor. From there, Ron’s love for cooking was recognized and he quickly moved up in position. After graduating high school, he explored his interest in electronics and audio engineering at a local community college and technical school. However, even during that time, he kept working in the restaurant industry and continued collecting years of experience in culinary arts.
Chef Ron moved to Charlottesville, VA in 1988 and joined the Culinary Department at the Boars Head Inn and Sports Club. At this point, Ron realized that working in the kitchen was no longer a job, it was his passion and what he was meant to do. Ron enjoyed twenty-three years with the Boars Head Inn Resort and held numerous positions while there, such as Sports Club Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Banquet Chef.
In 2012, Chef Ron was approached with the opportunity to lead the culinary team at the Double Tree by Hilton Charlottesville as the Executive Chef. His role included overseeing large banquet functions from 2 – 500 guests as well as menu planning, preparation and service for the hotel’s on-site restaurant.
Ron lives his passion on a daily basis and every meal he serves exemplifies his desire to create experiences that exceed guest’s expectations and that are memorable.
